Multispectral Imaging Flow Cytometry
Amnis is proud to offer the ImageStream system, a single platform that combines the analytical power of quantitative cell imaging with the statistical power of flow cytometry.
With the ImageStream system, you can:
A New Way to Analyze Cells
By combining microscopy and flow cytometry in a single platform, the ImageStream achieves a true breakthrough in cell analysis. Now the visual information that you obtain with a microscope can be fully integrated with the population statistics you would typically get from a flow cytometer. You can define and quantify cell subpopulations not only by signal intensity, but by the location of the signal in or on the cell. You can use cell and nuclear morphologies to characterize cell populations. In short, you can take full advantage of complex visual data to perform robust, multiparameter quantitative analyses.
Leading Edge Technology Produces Unprecedented Imagery
In the ImageStream, cells are illuminated with both a brightfield source, a 488 nm laser and up to two additional lasers as optional illumination sources. The resulting composite images are spectrally decomposed into as many as 6 component images and captured using Time Delay Integration technology on a proprietary CCD camera. You see a brightfield, darkfield and up to 4 fluorescence images of every cell, while over 35 morphological and signal intensity features are calculated for every image – over 200 features in total.
Visual Analysis with Statistical Significance
Integrating visual imagery into your cytometry analysis brings greater depth, relevance and accuracy. You never need to rely on inference; you can actually see any cell in any subpopulation. At the same time, adding statistical analysis to your visual inspection helps you avoid drawing conclusions based on limited data. Subtle trends and rare events are easily and clearly defined.
Software designed for the Biologist
The IDEAS™ analytical software package provides you with powerful, yet flexible and accessible data analysis. IDEAS evaluates nearly 200 features for every cell, including multiple morphologic and fluorescence intensity measurements. These features -- and virtually combination of them -- can be used to define and characterize your cell populations. You’ll find full graphical representation and statistical reporting capabilities. Standard cytometry analyses such as gating and backgating, are accomplished with a few clicks. In the displays, your image data and graphic outputs are completely integrated – every dot on a scatterplot is linked directly to a set of cell images. Yet with all its power, IDEAS software is remarkably easy to learn and use. Most operations are intuitive and require no prior experience with image analysis software.
One Instrument, Many Applications
Imaging in flow is a technology that will enable or enhance many of your applications. High resolution images deliver quantitative information about cell structure and about the location of your target molecules. Follow translocation from the cytoplasm to the nucleus; quantify capping and co-capping reactions; separate cells based on unique morphologic criteria; study cell-cell interactions; differentiate cell states such as late apoptosis and necrosis -- the range of potential applications is extremely broad. The ImageStream system is an ideal addition to a core imaging or cytometry laboratory or to a individual lab with diverse and evolving analytical needs.

| Additional Lasers |
|
The ImageStream system includes a solid-state 488 nm laser as the standard excitation source. Additional laser options include a red 658 nm laser (80 mW) and the choice of either a high power violet 405 nm laser (350 mW) or a UV 375 nm laser (18 mW). Each of these new laser options is availabe factory installed or they may be purchased for installation on an existing ImageStream system. |
| Extended Depth of Field |
|
For applications that need to maintain the entire cell, or a large part of the cell, in focus, Amnis offers the Extended Depth of Field option. This remarkable new optical deconvolution technology allows the ImageStream
depth of field to be expanded more than 5-fold. Enabling such applications
as FISH In Suspension, extended depth of field also markedly improves
many resolution-sensitive applications. |
